Lahore police have said that Mufti Azizur Rehman who was booked for sexually assaulting a student at the seminary where he worked, has managed to escape. They further said that the authorities are currently trying to nab the accused.
According to Lahore police spokesperson Arif Rana, several attempts have been made to arrest him in various areas of Lahore, but the cleric evaded arrest and escaped. The police further revealed that although his mobile phone was showing differing locatiosn in Lahore, he was not present at any of the given locations.
His sons are also wanted to the police.
Rehman was booked by the police earlier this week after a viral video showed him sexually abusing a child at Jamia Manzoor ul Islamia madrassa generated outage on social media.
