OCAS Receives 272,372 Applications For Intermediate Admissions
LAHORE: Online College Admissions System (OCAS), developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Higher Education Department of Punjab, has so far received a total of 272,372 online admission applications for 711 colleges across the province, out of which 71,848 were processed via the Bank of Punjab.

OCAS has processed intermediate admission applications for programmes such as Pre-Medical, Engineering and ICS for 2019-20 Intermediate admissions cycle.

More women students have applied to public colleges this year as compared to men. Around 142,592 women candidates applied for admissions as compared to 129,771 men students.

The online statistics also noted that 70 per cent of female students applied for admission in FSc Pre-Medical programme, while only 30 per cent men students applied in this discipline.

For FSc Pre-Engineering programme, around 64 per cent men and 36 per cent women applied for admissions respectively. Meanwhile, around 61 per cent women and 39 per cent men applied for the FA programme.

According to the statistics, men students showed more interest in Pre-Engineering, ICS, I Com and D Com subjects, while women students showed interest in Pre-Medical, FA and General Science programmes.
