Judge Arshad Malik Says Video Played During Maryam Nawaz’s Press Conference Was Doctored, Terms It Conspiracy
ISLAMABAD: Judge Arshad Malik of the Accountability Court has on Sunday denied the allegations levelled by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, saying that the video played during the press conference was ‘doctored’ and that it was a ‘conspiracy to malign him and his family’.
In a press release issued today, Arshad Malik said that the video played by PML-N leaders in a press conference on Saturday, where the judge was allegedly telling a PML-N worker Nasir Butt that he had sentenced Nawaz Sharif to jail under pressure, was doctored and presented ‘without context’.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz had on Saturday claimed that the accountability court judge, Arshad Malik, invited PML-N UK leader Nasir Butt to his residence and confessed that he was forced to convict Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a press conference, Maryam shared the video, audio and transcript of the discussion between Malik and Butt, in which the judge has seemingly admitted that he was coerced.

PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb has on the other hand said that the said judge knows well enough that there are other videos too in Maryam Nawaz’s possession and that was why he had only contented himself by claiming the video to have been presented ‘without context’.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir, while talking on Geo News, claimed that Maryam Nawaz also has in her possession some videos where Arshad Malik is claiming to have been instructed by supreme court judges to sentence Nawaz Sharif to 10-year imprisonment.
