This is not the first time that the Mufti has been in the spotlight under controversial circumstances. Videos of him with the late celebrity Qandeel Baloch and Tiktoker Hareem Shah attracted much attention on social media.
He had been nominated in the First Incident Report (FIR) filed by the father of Qandeel Baloch after her murder at the hands of her brother. He was also suspended by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. His family had distanced itself from his activities after a video surfaced of him being slapped by TikTok star Hareem Shah. After that video, his uncle Maulana Abdul Wahid had said that his cellphone was being confiscated and that he would be sent for psychiatric treatment.
The response from social media users to this latest video scandal meant that the Mufti became Pakistan's top Twitter trend on Tuesday night. Some on social media have expressed their regret and horror over having seen the uncensored footage of him. Others have taken the opportunity to note that there are double standards around such leaked videos in Pakistani society, with far more grave consequences for women. Social media commentators have also referred to the murder of Qandeel Baloch and the allegations on the Mufti stemming from that.
Qandeel Baloch qas killed in the name of honour.
Whereas #MuftiQavi is enjoying with his hands. His video is all over internet. No one's honour is affected. He will continue to live on happily. And the munafiq society wont be bothered.

Put a #Mufti before your name & you won't be held accountable for anything... This must change!
P.S. People please stop tweeting screen shots of the video, some of us do not want to be traumatised for life! ?#MuftiQavi #MuftiAbdulQavi #muftiqawi #muftiazizurrehman #Muftiaziz

Mufti Qavi's private video was recorded without his consent & leaked; highly unethical. Please don't circulate private intimate images & videos.
It does expose the hypocrisy of Mullahs who want to lock women up & silence them while indulging in extra-marital sex frenzy themselves
