FIR Registered, Removed From 'Mazaqraat' On Dunya News, Mohsin Abbas Haider Faces Domestic Violence Charges
Lahore: Local police registered a case against Mohsin Abbas Haider under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Haider`s wife, Fatima Sohail.

The said FIR was registered after both the parties appeared before SP Cantt and submitted their written statements, in the said statement Fatima Sohail alleges that Mohsin became offensive with her. it further states that the accused had illicit relations with another woman.

According to the FIR, Mohsin had allegedly asked Fatima to bring Rs.5 million from her parents for a business he wanted to run. However, upon questions regarding the business by Fatima, Mohsin started beating her.

Fatima has asked the police for the recovery of the said amount and action against the physical abuse allegation based on the medical examination report already submitted to the police.

Mohsin, on the other hand, was granted anticipatory bill after paying Rs. 50,000.

Relieved From Dunya News


Popular TV Show, Mazaqraat which airs on Dunya News has relieved Mohsin from further duties until and unless he is proven innocent in the court of law.

In a statement issued on social media handles of the channel, Dunya News stated, "After the audience has made its sentiments very clear and spoken out about the issue on various platforms, Dunya News has decided to dissociate from Mohsin Abbas Haider."

Since Fatima`s accusation, celebrities, fans, artists, and members from civil society have condemned Haider`s alleged actions and are rather not convinced from his side of the story presented in a presser earlier.
