Let Corrupt Politicians Leave Country. You Will Have No Opposition: Rashid Tells PM Khan
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday said that he advised Prime Minister Imran Khan to let 'corrupt politicians' leave the country, but the latter did not agree.

“The opposition can end in one hour if Imran Khan lets them leave the country. I have told Imran Khan to let them go but he said no,” Rashid said while addressing a news conference. He added that all corrupt politicians are joining hands against the government because they are scared of accountability.

The railways ministers admitted that Pakistan was suffering from inflation, but said that the former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) governments were to blame for the ongoing economic crisis.

The minister’s comments come as former president and PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari met with JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday to discuss a joint strategy against the government. The two leaders had a consensus on uniting opposition parties and continue reaching out to other political parties.

Contradicting minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed’s profit claim, the Pakistan Railways suffered a loss of Rs29 billion in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s first 8 months.

Earlier, Sheikh Rasheed had said that the railway’s department gained profits of Rs43 Billion since PTI took over.

However, a report presented to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Friday told otherwise. According to the report submitted to the committee by Railways officials, the total expenditures of the Pakistan Railways stood at Rs72 billion.
