I'm not quitting as Governor Punjab, say Chaudhry Sarwar

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar today said that he is not going to resign as he has big goals to achieve and many miles to go to fulfill the promises made by Prime Minister Imran Khan with the people of Pakistan.

Ch Sarwar disregarded the rumors which were circulating in the media about his resignation while speaking to media in a conference at the Governor House, Lahore.

The Governor dismissed any speculation about his relations with PM Imran Khan, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar or Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

However, in response to public criticism, he has announced his disassociation from the Sarwar Foundation as chairman. It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that was run by him and his wife Parveen Sarwar.

Moreover, the Governor stated that the funds collected by the Foundation from his foreign visits as Governor Punjab would be transferred to the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority for the installation of water filtration plants in the province.

He also added that he will not take part in any fund-raising campaigns of the NGO as long as he's Governor of the province and his wife will look after affairs.
