The news generated backlash on social media, with people demanding justice for the slain youth. They have alleged that at the behest of the influential people, the police and local administration are trying to cover up the murder by calling it a suicide.
A hashtag #JusticeForArslan has been trending on Twitter.
Arslan, a 22 years old young boy, has been murdered few days back and the police is hiding the facts to suppress the issue and to let it go unnoticed. But, we will not let it go. His murder needs to be investigated impartially.#JusticeForArslan pic.twitter.com/sNtAw3Zo8a

A user named Wajahat said there is no justice in the country, it is all theatrics.
The perpetrators of Sahiwal massacre are free. Don't expect justice for Arsalan too. Because they may lollipop you for time being and arrest the people behind but it will only vindicate them from court. #JusticeForArslan
