Video Emerges Of Dubai Princess From Captivity: Fears For Life
Sheikha Latifa, daughter of Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has claimed in video footage released by the BBC that she is being held prisoner and is in fear for her life.

The princess had attempted to escape the UAE in March 2018, but was captured in a dramatic raid by UAE special forces while at sea. Reports at the time indicated that this sea raid had been done with some cooperation from the Indian government, since the princess had attempted to escape via that country.

In the newly-released footage, which appears to be a cellphone video, Sheikha Latifa says “I'm a hostage and this villa has been converted into a jail.” She adds that she is worried about her safety and that there were police personnel both outside and within the premises where she is behind held. Moreover, she refers to a day-by-day deterioration of her situation.

“I don't want to be a hostage in this jail villa. I just want to be free,” she says.
