A lawyer working on cases of enforced disappearances and other human rights issues has gone missing himself. On Monday, Advocate Colonel (r) Inam Raheem was reportedly abducted from his house in Rawalpindi.
A report in BBC Urdu quoted the victim’s son who confirmed his abduction. He further told that on Monday night, 10-15 armed men wearing black uniforms entered the house and kidnapped his father at gunpoint. They also warned Colonel Inam’s son against lodging a complaint of his abduction.
The report further says that Colonel Inam had challenged former DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa’s appointment as the head of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, and he had been working on the case.
He had also once approached the courts against interment centres.
