Why Did It Take Longer Than A Week To Decide On Maryam's Request To Travel Abroad, LHC Asks Govt
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the federal government to submit a written reply to PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz's application seeking removal of her name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The directives were issued by a two-member bench, which was hearing a petition filed by Maryam Nawaz on December 21, in which she has asked the LHC to return her passport and to ask the government to remove her name from the no-fly list.
Maryam Nawaz's counsel told the court that his client had received a letter by the government on Tuesday night, in which it had denied taking her name off the ECL.

The bench was also informed that on December 9, the court had ordered the federal government to take a decision on Maryam's request within a week but it took more than a month to decide and inform her of the final decision.
