The federal cabinet has given conditional approval for removal of ailing former PM Nawaz Sharif's name from the country's no-fly list. News channels quoted sources as saying that the permission has been granted on the condition of submitting a financial guarantee.
According to sources, Sharif's name has been removed from Exit Control List or a limited time.
However, no official announcement has been made in this regard. The cabinet sub-committee tasked to give recommendation over the matter will meet again at 9:30 PM on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, journalists and social media commentators reacted to the development and said that the delay on the part of the government is unnecessary.
