Khan said that Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan advised him to allow businesses to make money which will in return boost investments. “If businesses make money, only then more people will invest in a country. We are working on ease of business. We are changing our tax laws,” he said.
Khan said Pakistan has started making it easier for investors to do business in Pakistan and that the country was introducing reforms to that end. “The situation is improving. Investors are coming to Pakistan and this is the time, I believe, that the country will take off,” he said.

But what Pakistan had more than any other country was religious tourism spots, Khan added. “We have the Mecca and Madina of the Sikh religion. Thousands of them come to Pakistan each year to visit various spots in the country,” He said.
You Only Lose When You Give Up
Prime Minister Khan said that the most important lesson he learned as a sportsman was that “you only lose when you give up”. “When I started playing cricket, Pakistan was not among the world’s best, but when I left cricket, Pakistan was the world champion,” Khan said, adding that a person only loses when he or she gives up.
He also said that he grew up in a Pakistan that was a model for the developing world.

“I just met Sheikh Muhammad and he again reminded me that Emirates airlines was helped by the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the 70s. Pakistan was a country with hope and optimism, we grew up rapidly, our bureaucracy was the best in Asia. That was the Pakistan I grew up in.”
Good Governance Is Vital For Development
Khan said that good governance was key to the development of Pakistan. He said that accountability and meritocracy were the two main aspects of good governance and that a government has better chances of succeeding if it has a good accountability process.
