Modi’s Bigotry Destroyed Spirit Of Kartarpur: FM Qureshi Tells Indian Journalist
Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the bigotry and narrow-mindedness of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had destroyed the spirit of Kartarpur.

In a conversation with Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, the foreign minister denounced the Indian prime minister’s attitude.

While talking to Shah Mehmood, Dutt stated, “We’re here from India as your guests but you are attacking the Indian prime minister personally.”

In response, the foreign minister stated, “His bigotry and narrow-mindedness destroyed the spirit of Kartarpur.”

Dutt said that by insulting the Indian prime minister, Shah Mehmood was insulting the Indian people.

“Not at all, you’re welcome, I’m welcoming you,” the foreign minister replied.

The Kartarpur Corridor is set to be inaugurated today, connecting a Sikh shrine in Indian Punjab to the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. The Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, located a few kilometres from the Indo-Pak border, is revered among the Sikhs, as it was the place where Baba Guru Nanak settled and preached during the last 18 years of his life. It is also Guru Nanak’s final resting place.

Kartarpur Corridor would be potentially used by 5000 Sikh pilgrims daily. On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had waived off two requirements for Sikh pilgrims, in order to facilitate their visit to the holy place.
