Federal Law Minister Farogh Nasim has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government can give a two-year extension to Army Chief General Bajwa after the expiry of his extended three-year period.
While talking to a private media channel, the law minister stated that the government could give another two-year extension in the tenure of the army chief after the expiration of his extended three-year period.

The statement comes the day the National Assembly gave its approval to three bills pertaining the tenure of the services chiefs.
The legislation on the matter has been done according to a ruling of the Supreme Court given in November, which gave an extension of six months to the army chief while making it conditional to lawmaking on the matter.
