English daily newspaper Dawn has been banned in Defence Housing Authority, Lahore, with residents being given circulars asking them to switch to other newspapers.
Pictures doing the rounds on social media showed a circular, apparently given to residents of DHA, which stated that the housing authority had placed a ban on Dawn newspaper. The message further said that as long as the restriction is not lifted, residents should switch to other English dailies.

The ban comes days after Dawn’s office in Islamabad was besieged by a mob, with the protesters demanding that Dawn declare as false a report it had published in which it had declared the London Bridge knife attack perpetrator as of Pakistani origin.
