Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) MNA Rana Tanveer has said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) should have gone ahead with its plan to begin long march on March 26 as the PML-N was fully prepared for the event. He added that the issue of resignations could have been addressed later since there was a deadlock among the parties over the decision to tender resignations from assemblies.
He expressed these views while talking to anchor Asma Shirazi during her show on Tuesday night. The PML-N leader went on to say that PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman spoke to Nawaz Sharif and brought up the resignations issue out of nowhere.
"Long march was not conditional to resignations," he said.
On March 16, the PDM had decided to postpone its much hyped anti-government long march that was scheduled to be held on March 26 after Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) sought time to decide whether its lawmakers were ready to resign from assemblies. PPP is yet to announce its decision in this regard, and the infighting within the PDM continues to deepen.
