Senate Sub-Committee Perturbed Over Vacant Seats In Top Bureaucracy
ISLAMABAD: The Sub-Committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication on Wednesday, took stringent notice of the discrepancies observed between the seat allocation and the filled seats in top bureaucracy in different provinces.

Senator Mir Kabeer observed that Balochistan was allocated a total number of 319 seats whereas the figure quoted revealed a mere 200.  Similarly, the total allocation in Sindh was supposed to be 904 whereas the number of seats shown was 166.

The committee asserted that the issue needed to be rectified at the earliest and the Establishment Division should be summoned in the next meeting with the details of Grade 17 to 22 officers and their deployments.

While taking up the complaint lodged by Senator Rubina Khalid regarding fake news on social media about recovery of huge quantity of gold from her house, Committee Convenor Senator Kalsoom Parveen stressed the need for rebuttal of all those involved in the maligning of Rubina and said no one was safe unless an examples was made of the responsible individuals.

The committee was informed that the social media accounts of the persons involved had been verified and necessary measures were being taken to take them to task.
