One of Pakistan’s acclaimed TV sitcoms ‘Bulbulay’ is all set to make its return and Ayesha Omar believes the show will be so much more fun-filled than it was previously.
Ayesha spoke with Dawn Images about Bulbulay’s return and her own role as ‘Khoobsorat’. The show that also stars Nabeel, Mehmood Aslam and Hina Dilpazeer Khan in other 3 lead roles has earned a huge audience throughout the years.
But with the show’s return, viewers should expect new and big things.
"We are coming back with fresh episodes with the entire cast and crew. The mood and the story still run along the same lines however a few new things will be there,” Ayesha told Dawn Images. She said her character, which is a sane and practical one, would remain so but with a touch of rebellion.
"She is more elegant than before. Still keeps her rebellious streak intact. Remains to be the sensible one who is practical as always," Ayesha said regarding her role, adding that although comedy demands more of an actor, she thoroughly enjoys it.
Bulbulay achieved the highest-ever rating of a Pakistani comedy series, with a rating of 8.0 TRPs (Television Rating Points), which is more than any other Pakistani comedy-drama.
Bulbulay also won the ‘Best Sitcom’ award for three consecutive years, from 2010 to 2012, at the Pakistan Media Awards.
