Inspector General of Police Mohammad Naeem Khan on Sunday announced the initiation of tourism policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the coming season. The tourism policing will follow the model of Thailand’s tourist police, he added.
The IGP who is on an official visit to Hazara division, said that Galiyat and Naran-Kaghan were the two most popular tourist spots of the area. Special trainers from Thailand police would soon hold training sessions for the tourism police in KP, he added.
The police would be provided with a specially-designed uniform from next year and given speicalised training about local cultures and history so they could properly guide the tourists, said Khan.
Khan also spoke at a police darbar at Jalal Baba Auditorium where all DPOs of Hazara range, representatives of Haripur, Abbottabad and other districts were present besides DIG Hazara Mohammad Ali Babakhel and DPO Abbas Majeed Marwat.
