Additional Attorney General Tariq Mehmood Khokhar has denied the news reports of his resignation, Dawn News reported. On Tuesday morning, a number of TV channels reported that Khokhar resigned from his post saying that his conscience does not allow him to pursue the treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf.
The additional AG had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking to halt a special court's decision to reserve its judgement in a high treason case against former military Musharraf.
"I appeared in a court to represent the government [but] because of other commitments could not argue the interior ministry's petition in the treason case,"Dawn quoted him as saying.
