Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - Fazl (JUI-F), has turned down Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s invitation to attend the December 27th rally to be organised by the latter.
The 27th December rally is being held to commemorates the death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Baksh.
Tribune reported that instead of Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, a five member delegation of party leaders will attend the rally, confirmed JUI-F senior leader Maulana Rashid Mahmood. The delegation includes: JUI-F Central Secretary-General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Siraj Ahmed Khan, Abdul Razzaq Abid Lakho, Saud Afzal Jalijo and Maulana Abdullah Mehr.
In attendance of the rally will also be Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz.
The JUI-F, PPP and PMLN are all allies in the anti-government Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance.
