Archaeologists have recently uncovered 2,000 years-old ancient metal artefacts from Hayatabad area in Peshawar.
According to Express Tribune, University of Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) archeology departments had been working together at the Hayatabad Phase V site for the past three years.
During the excavation, various artefacts were found including utensils, tools, and industrial items. The remains were related to the Sateen tribe, which dates back to the 2nd century BC.
The KP government's authorities are assessing the site for its restoration and may take the decision to convert the site into a museum later.
In February 2019, Chinese archaeologists discovered 4,000-year-old artefacts near Khanpur. The discovery indicated that there was a civilisation in the area long before the Gandhara civilisation.
