5 Shaan Shahid Performances No One Else Could Have Delivered
Shaan Shahid is one of the finest film actors Pakistan has ever seen. It would also not be wrong to say that he is one of the top 3 greatest Lollywood male stars of all time.

And there are surely reasons for why he is such a legend. Throughout his career, he has performed in hundreds of movies and produced tens of classic. 5 of them among the many that too could easily make this list are below.

Gunghat

We have mostly seen the star in a protagonist role, but this was one of the few moment Shaan showed he was as good a villain as he was a hero.

With Arbaaz Khan and Resham playing the protagonist leads, the film marks Shaan's comeback into the Lahore film industry after a sabbatical. He won many plaudits for his performance as the scheming villain.

The movie is also known for giving the music industry a classic in ‘Dekha Jo Chehra Tera Mausam Bhi Pyaara Laga’.

Sangam

The 1997 classic was a much-needed comeback movie and Shaan performed par expectations. The movie revolves around the character played by Shaan who is bound to live in a glass chamber for all his life because he cannot breathe natural.

During his time in the chamber, he falls in love with a girl he sees on the Television. The feelings later overpower him and he breaks the glass chamber to meet her, only to die a few days after.

Nikah

The film reunited Shaan and Reema for on-screen romance after 5-years. The 1998 film revolves around a rich girl (Reema) who marries a middle-class man with great traditional values (played by Shaan), and her struggle of fitting in.

For her performance, Reema received the prestigious Nigar Award. The 1990-2000 period was the best in Reema’s career as she won numerous accolades for her performances. Shaan also received great plaudits.

Khuda Kay Liye 

Shoaib Mansoor’s Khuda Kay Liye is arguably one of the best films produced in Lollywood. Shaan played the role of Mansoor Khan, a Pakistani singer who goes to a music school in Chicago.

Post 9/11, Mansoor gets arrested by the FBI for being a Muslim and spends a year at Guantanamo Bay detention centre, where he is subjected to torture and receives brain damage. Later, he is deported to Pakistan and begins recovery.

The film also features Fawad Khan, Iman Ali, Naseeruddin Shah, Naeem Tahir and Rasheed Naz in pivotal roles.

Majajan

Shaan plays the role of Zil-e-Shah, an unhappily married man who belongs to the Syed clan and falls in love with a courtesan Taari (Saima) who arrives to perform in his village.

His wife (Madiha Shah) and family condemn their relationship. But madly in love, Shaan breaks free from the barriers of caste and creed, picks up Ghungros and dances to ‘Tere Ishq Nachaya’ as testament of his unconditional love.

The film was inspired by the life of Baba Bulleh Shah and his 'Ishq' with his 'Murshad'.
