Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was arrested on Monday after being sentenced to 7 years in prison in Al Azizia case. He was also fined $25 million by the Accountability Court.
Nawaz was sentenced on grounds that he and his lawyers failed to provide details of assets beyond means.
His daughter Maryam Nawaz has kick-started a social media campaign in support of her father, while other party leaders have also said that peaceful protests can be expected inside and outside of the Parliament.
Moreover, an appeal against the verdict can also be expected.
