Bilal and Makki Masjid were sealed in Islamabad after a member of Tableeghi Jamaat, who was living with his 13 companions was diagnosed with coronavirus on Sunday. Assistant Commission (AC) Islamabad Asadullah along with police officials, a team of the National Institute of Health (NIH) and Edhi ambulances reached Bilal Masjid and transported the 13 Tableeghi Jamaat members initially to Haji Camp and then to PIMS wherein all of them were tested for coronavirus.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat took to Twitter to inform people about the recent development. He said the authorities have disinfected the mosque, where several members of Tableeghi Jamaat were residing with the coronavirus patient. “Terrible lapse and criminal carelessness on part of the Khateeb and Tableeghi Jamaat. They knew that one of them had symptoms and they kept on roaming around,” the DC added.
