Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, has died at 27 in Los Angeles, with his family requesting privacy as they mourn his loss.

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at a Los Angeles rehabilitation facility, according to reports.
TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Gerber’s death on Sunday. An autopsy had not yet been completed, according to the report.
The family has asked for privacy as they cope with the loss.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” a representative told TMZ.
Gerber was Crawford and Rande Gerber’s eldest child and only son. His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, is a model and actress who currently appears in the FX series The Shards.
Family had spoken about his struggles
Gerber had previously spoken publicly about addiction, recovery and mental health, including aspects of his personal journey on social media.
In an interview with Vogue last month, Kaia Gerber discussed her brother’s struggles and the challenges families can face when one member is dealing with serious personal difficulties.
Gerber also used social media to document parts of his recovery journey.
In a post shared in March, he discussed undergoing an ibogaine flood-dosing treatment, an approach being studied in clinical trials for opioid and other substance-use disorders.
He described the experience as frightening and wrote about confronting issues he had previously been running from.
His family publicly supported him at the time. Crawford described her son as a “warrior” and praised his courage, while Kaia said she was proud of her brother. Rande Gerber also expressed pride in his son and his efforts to confront difficult experiences.
Gerber was open about mental health
Gerber had previously discussed his experiences with depression and other mental health difficulties during a podcast appearance.
He said he hoped sharing his experiences could help others facing similar struggles and described mental health as an important part of his life.
In the years before his death, Gerber also began posting “Mental Health Mondays” videos on Instagram, where he discussed recovery and efforts to develop healthier habits.
His public struggles also included legal trouble. In January 2019, Gerber was arrested for driving under the influence and was later sentenced to three years of probation, a DUI program and community service, according to TMZ.
A life in modeling and public view
Gerber worked as a model and followed his mother into the fashion industry. As the son of one of the world's best-known supermodels and a prominent businessman, his life had been closely followed by the public.
His death comes as his family and friends remember a young man who had spoken openly about his struggles with recovery and mental health and had sought to use his experiences to encourage others.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, and an official cause of death had not been established at the time of the reports.
