Impossible For Pakistan To Become China: Obed Pasha

Impossible For Pakistan To Become China: Obed Pasha
There's an urge in certain quarters in Pakistan to replicate the one-party model of China here. Obed Pasha believes it's impossible given the stark differences between the two societies. Pasha says China has always had a centralized system of government, while Pakistan remains decentralized.

He says Pakistan is a ethnically, linguistically and religiously diverse country, whereas China has had a unified system for almost 2500. He says in China, Mandarin is spoken by 90% of the population, but in Pakistan, over 30 languages are spoken in different parts of the country. Ethnically, Pakistan is diverse too in comparison to China. Therefore, instead of adopting China’s model, Pakistan should make diversity its strength.

Here's an explainer on why it's impossible for Pakistan to become China.
