Rangers Called In Punjab To Handle TLP’s Violent Protests
The federal cabinet has decided to deploy Rangers in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jhelum and Bahawalpur in light of the law and order situation amid Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)’s protest. The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry who was addressing the media after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
The minister said that no party or group can dictate the government’s policies.
TLP’s violent protest have entered their third day today. Two policemen have been killed in the riots while more than 300 are said to be injured.
