'Nawaz Sharif Became CM By Polishing Ziaul Haq's Boots', PM Imran Strikes Back
Prime Minister Imran Khan has reacted to the opposition's first public meeting in Gujranwala, terming the jalsa a 'circus'. He said that Sharif was launched into politics by the military establishment.

Criticisng the PML-N leader for 'maligning' the army leadership, he said that Pakistan Army personnel were sacrificing their lives for the country while Nawaz Sharif uses 'inappropriate' language against the military.

Earlier on Friday, Nawaz Sharif had claimed that COAS Qamar Bajwa and DG ISI General Faiz manipulated the 2018 general elections in the country to bring an 'incompetent' party to power. While addressing the PDM rally hosted by the PML-N in Gujranwala, the former PM held both military officials responsible for the economic issues of the country.

"Nawaz Sharif first became a minister through the backing of General (r) Ghulam Jilani and became the chief minister by polishing the boots of General Zia ul Haq," PM Imran Khan said, in response to Sharif's accusation that PTI was brought to power by military establishment.

He expressed these views while addressing a Tiger Force convention in Islamabad.
He also said that he would make sure that Nawaz Sharif is brought back to the country and put behind bars once again. "I will see to it that you come back and go to an ordinary jail, not a VIP one," the PM said.
