GCU Vice Chancellor Gets Death Threats From His Guards
Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi, the current Vice-Chancellor of Government College University (GCU), Lahore has received death threats.
In a status uploaded by the VC himself on social media, it was told that the death threats have been given to him by his own security guards. The reason he stated was the changes he implemented after his appointment that did not give the margin to some of the office-bearers to continue with their corrupt practices which they had been exercising for years. The VC believes that the guards have taken this step on the instigation of those office bearers which the VC has held accountable for wrong-doings on campus.
However, in the same status, Dr. Asghar Zaidi has said that his objective still remains to bring GCU to its former respectable position in terms of academics and that he will not give up. “My cause is just,” he says.
It is to be noted that Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi, since the day of his appointment, has stood out as an active person bent upon carrying out positive changes on campus regarding both administration and academics. This has also led to some conspicuous changes in the positions of staff members at various levels within the institution.
