LAHORE: A student was tortured to death by a teacher in Gulshan-e-Ravi area on Thursday.
Hafiz Hanain, who studied in Class 10, was tortured by his teacher Kamran for failing to learn a lesson assigned by the teacher. Fellow students told media persons that the teacher started kicking Hanain and banged his head against the wall.
Hafiz was shifted to a hospital in an injured condition where he succumbed to his wounds.
Police arrested the teacher after the incident and have started investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Education Dr Murad Raas took notice of the student’s death and ordered immediate registration of a case against his teacher.
The minister said that the teacher would be brought to justice, while adding, “We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.”
