After she was temporarily housed in a school for one night due to the Coronavirus lockdown, an Indian woman in the Indian state of Rajasthan was allegedly gang-raped by by three local men. Police say they have arrested the three suspects.
As the lockdown went into effect across India, the woman had been stranded far from her home. Eventually, she had walked all the way to a police station in Sawai Madhopur, having lost the way to the village of her birth. With no quarantine facilities available, the police decided to provide her shelter in the nearby school building for a night.
She had been asked to stay in the school building because the community nearby was worried about her being infected with the Coronavirus and wanted to keep her isolated from the local population.
