Ehsanullah Ehsan Makes Sensational Claims In New Interview With Al-Jazeera
Former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader Ehsanullah Ehsan who had recently escaped from the custody of security forces has said that the Pakistan Taliban still have the capability of carrying out attacks despite facing losses in the anti-terror operations in the country. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Ehsan said that the Pakistani Taliban's cell remain active in various cities of the country.

He further told Al Jazeera that TTP and its allies continue to operate in Afghanistan near the border with Pakistan, adding that it was wrong to say that these armed groups have been disbanded. He also said that their 'silence' was part of a plan as they still have the ability to launch terror attacks.

According to Al Jazeera. the interview was taken from an 'undisclosed location' through a messaging service.

Ehsan acknowledged that the killing of major Taliban commanders by security forces has affected the organisation, but it has not been decimated.
