Punjab University Administration Pressuring Students Not To Join Aurat March
University of the Punjab’s administration has been pressuring students to not join upcoming Aurat March. The administration also directed the students to cancel the study circle being organised to discuss the charter of demands of the march.

Student and activist Haider Butt posted on his Twitter handle, saying that the university’s administration on Wednesday told the students to either choose between participating in Aurat March or get degrees. “This education system and notorious Punjab University’s administration is an oppressive machinery to produce slaves,” he added.

According to a student rights organisation Progressive Students Collective, University of the Punjab's registrar and the chief security officer (CSO) on Wednesday directed the relevant departments to call and order students to cancel a study circle being organised to analyse the demands of Aurat March 2020.

The student organisation claimed that the concerned HODs attempted to coerce students to cancel the study circle and abandon all attempts at organising students for the Aurat March 2020. Progressive Students Collective further claimed that the administration even went to the extent of threatening the students that their degrees will be cancelled if they do not follow the instructions.
