LHC CJ’s Oath-Taking Ceremony Held With Large Crowd Despite Ban On Gatherings
Despite restrictions on public gatherings and enforcement of section 144 in Punjab, hundreds of people, including Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar, attended the oath taking ceremony of Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan, the newly appointed chief justice of Lahore High Court (LHC).

The oath taking ceremony was held at Governor House on Thursday. Besides governor Punjab and the chief minister, several members of lawyers' fraternity, and other government officials were present on the occasion.

The act of top provincial executives and government officials has drawn severe criticism on social media. People are complaining that CM Punjab and the governor should have acted responsibly, and the ceremony should have been postponed or held in a simpler manner.
