Elderly Pakistani Dies After Testing Positive For Coronavirus In Brescia, Italy

A 65-year-old Pakistani man from Brescia, Italy, has passed away after having been diagnosed with Coronavirus.


Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqi has stated that Pakistani authorities are in contact with Italian counterparts for the return of the body of the deceased to Pakistan.


Italy is among the countries most afflicted by Coronavirus at the moment. In the heavily populated industrial north, especially in the Lombardy region of which Brescia is part, the population is under lockdown. The death toll has exceeded 600, while thousands of cases of infection have now been detected.


One of Italy's most high-profile people to have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus is the country's Chief of Army Staff Salvatore Farina.
