Police In Karachi Find Remains Of Woman Kept In Freezer For Years

The remains of a deceased woman were recovered by police from a rubbish heap in Karachi's Gulshan-i-Iqbal area. Zakia Khatoon had passed away 12 years ago, but her son Ehsan and daughter Shagufta kept it in their freezer rather than bury it. Reports indicate that they held on to the body for all these years due to love.

Their 70-year-old uncle Mehboob, who had been estranged from them, recently left their mother's body at the trash heap. He claims that the siblings died some four months ago, from separate and unrelated causes, and that he found their mother's body on a mattress within their home.

Police have taken Mehboob into custody as they investigate the matter.
