Slain ANP Leader Bashir Bilour Remembered On 7th Death Anniversary

An event marking the seventh death anniversary of Awami National Party (ANP) politician Bashir Bilor was held at the Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar on Sunday.

The event was hosted by his older brother, Ghulam Bilour, who said that the sacrifice of Bashir Bilour and his son would not be forgotten.

Bilour was killed in a suicide bomb attack on 22nd December, 2012. He was exiting a corner meeting at Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar when a suicide bomber blew himself up.

The responsibility of the attack was taken by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who said that this assassination was to avenge the death of Shiekh Naseeb Khan. They also added that they will fight parties like ANP that promote secularism in the country, which is against the Islamic way of life.

Bilour was a fierce opponent of the Taliban in the country and at the time of his death was serving as a member of the provincial assembly of KP.
