Google Executive Tania Aidrus Set To Lead Digital Pakistan Initiative
Google executive Tania Aidrus is set to head the Digital Pakistan initiative which is being inaugurated today and is aimed at digitalisation to introduce technologies for public welfare.

According to Public News, Tania has reached Pakistan in this regard and has resigned from Google in Singapore.

Tania was a senior executive at Google and has worked as ‘Country Manager – South Asia Emerging Markets’. Her work was focused increasing the adoption of products amongst consumers and businesses.

Tania has returned to head the Digital Pakistan initiative. A tweet regarding the matter was also made by the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s account on Twitter.

In September, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen had announced that the government would be acquiring the services of a senior former google executive to revamp its payment system and aid digitalisation in Pakistan. He added that the government had persuaded the executive to lead the project in Pakistan after a lot of effort.

Tania Aidrus’s last engagement at Google was as ‘Director, Product, Payments for Next Billion Users’. Her work was focused on creating products and services aimed at addressing emerging trends and needs in growth markets.

Moreover, before her stint at Google, Tania had worked to establish a health diagnosis company called ClickDiagnostics, which aspired to connect rural patients in emerging markets to doctors around the world.

Tania holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
