Trump Thanks PM Imran For Helping Release Of Hostages By Taliban
United States President Donald Trump has thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for Pakistan's efforts to facilitate the release of two western hostages by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, PM Imran had a conversation on telephone with the US president, in which regional and bilateral issues were discussed.

PM Imran stated to the US president that the release of two Western hostages by the Afghan Taliban was a positive development that Pakistan was happy to have facilitated. 

On November 18, two American university professors were released by the Afghan Taliban in exchange for three leaders of the militant group.

US President Donald Trump thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for facilitating the positive outcome.

Moreover, PM Imran assured of Pakistan's commitment to the Afghan peace process and its desire to achieve a stable Afghanistan.

Both state leaders agreed to continue to work for peace in Afghanistan.

PM Imran also informed the US president of the prevailing situation in Kashmir and that eight million people had been under siege for more than 100 days.

The prime minister also appreciated President Trump's offer to mediate the Kashmir dispute and stressed that he must continue his efforts to facilitate peace in Kashmir.
