Prime Minister Imran Khan has stated that his prayers were with Nawaz Sharif despite his political differences with him.
In a tweet posted from his official Twitter account, the prime minister stated, “Political differences notwithstanding, my sincere prayers are with Nawaz Sharif for his health.”
He added that he had directed all the concerned to ensure provision of best possible health care and medical treatment to Nawaz Sharif.
On Monday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to hospital after his personal physician reported that his platelet count had fallen due to multiple pathologies.
Yesterday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz met with Nawaz Sharif in Services Hospital following an earlier rejection of her request to do so by the accountability court. The party had later requested the Punjab Home Department, after which Maryam was allowed to meet.
Maryam was herself hospitalised owing to ill-health following her meeting with Nawaz Sharif, and later sent back to jail.
