Man Arrested In Lahore For Harassing, Blackmailing Woman Through Objectionable Material
LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) National Response Centre for Cybercrime (NRCC) on Tuesday arrested a man in the provincial metropolis for harassing and blackmailing a woman through her objectionable photos and videos.

According to a statement issued by FIA NRCC Lahore Deputy Director Chaudhry Sarfraz, a man from Sheikhpura filed a complaint with the centre saying that his sister was being harassed and blackmailed by a man from Lahore through her objectionable pictures and videos that were obtained without her consent.

After receiving the complaint, an investigation team was constituted by the NRCC Lahore deputy director. The team carried out a successful raid and recovered two mobile phones from the suspect. One of the mobile phones contained objectionable content concerning the woman.

“Once the team had found the objectionable material and sufficient incriminating evidence, the accused was arrested and his mobile phones were taken into custody by FIA through seizure memo,” the statement further said.

A case was registered against the suspect on Tuesday under Sections 20, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) read with Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case would be further investigated by Inspector Sabahat Noor.

This case surfaced only a few days after the FIA arrested two men from Lahore in separate cases for harassing and blackmailing different women, including a Malaysian national, through social media platforms.
