Labour Day, is an official holiday in Pakistan for everyone except for the labour community
In Pakistan, May 1 is just another day for the labour community. Construction workers, coal miners, factory workers and those involved in bonded labour mostly don’t have off days.

Not even on the day dedicated to the labourers across the globe. Most work more than 12 hours a day for a minimum wage. According to Human Rights Watch, millions of garment workers in Pakistan face abuse and exploitation. Lack of job security and government inspection, and aggressive tactic sagainst independent unions make it difficult for workers to assert their rights.
