KASUR: Another child has been abducted from Kasur area in Punjab on Thursday night, as the cases of child abduction continue to rise in the city.
Per details, two motorcycle riders attempted to abduct two children from Hashim Chowk. However, the unidentified men took one boy with them while leaving the other boy behind in an unconsciousness state. The boy has been shifted to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital for treatment.
According to police, the minor being treatment at the hospital has been changing his statement. They also said that no person has approached them yet in connection with the alleged abduction of the other child.
The recent abduction case comes after the remains of at least three out of four missing children were found earlier this week. They went missing from the city's Chunian area. All three were brutally raped before being buried, police had said in its statement.
Police had further said that 12-year-old Imran of Rana Town had gone missing on June 1, eight-year-old Ali Hasnain and nine-year-old Salman disappeared in August, and eight-year-old Faizan went missing on September 16.
Only Faizan's body was recovered in a recognisable state, whereas the remains of the remaining two boys were recovered from Chunian Industrial Area.
The identities of the other two children would be confirmed once the results of the DNA test would be made available, police said.
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had taken notice of the incident and announced an overhaul of the local police set up in Kasur.
The PM said that anyone involved in the Kasur incident had to face accountability, while adding that negligent officials would be taken to task.
