Confusion, lack of coordination, indecision, whatever it is, we don’t know. On one hand, the federal cabinet announced earlier this week to declare Islamabad polythene bags-free from August 14 and, on the other, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has made it mandatory for all the check-in baggage to be wrapped with plastic sheets.
A notification dated July 18 says the baggage of all domestic and international passengers will be wrapped in plastic before going to the scanning counters of Airport Security Force (ASF), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Customs. And it will cost Rs50 per bag.
Meanwhile, Air Vice-Marshal Shahid Latif is associated the company responsible for this exercise [if you notice the notification carefully].
But this cannot go unnoticed no matter have how many justifications one gives for such things.
