A spokesperson for the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has made a startling revelation: that local and foreign currency totaling around Rs. 30 million had been recovered from the crash site of Flight 8303.
The money was recovered from the site in three bags. Moreover, the PIA spokesperson noted that such amounts of cash cannot be taken on board without informing the airline. This procedure also requires the purchase of a ticket for an extra seat.
Since no such arrangements were made, the cash was being smuggled, as far as the airline is concerned.
Three individuals have so far laid claim to this sum of money.
