Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew Hassaan Niazi appeared before a Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court and obtained a pre-arrest bail in the case of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology attack.
Hassaan Niazi, was part of the mob of lawyers which attacked the Punjab Institute Of Cardiology on December 11.
Niazi was initially not nominated in the FIR registered against the lawyers who attacked the hospital, but later was following backlash against Punjab Police. Police tried to arrest the lawyer but failed repeatedly.
On Friday, Hassaan Niazi appeared before a special ATC where he was granted pre-arrest bail on the provision of sureties worth Rs0.1 million each.
Following the PIC attack, as videos of Hassaan Niazi’s participation in the mob had gone viral, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had dissociated itself from the lawyer, saying that he was Hafizullah Niazi’s son first and then PM Imran’s nephew.
