Police have arrested dacoits with the help of a Facebook status in Lahore’s Faisal Town on Monday. The police officials reached the crime location when a woman posted a status on Facebook that dacoits have entered into her house.
According to a news report published in ARY News, a woman named Saba, who was at the upper portion of the house, wisely posted a status on the social media platform that two dacoits have entered her house when she witnessed resistance from her family members.
After reading the post, friends and the other family members of Saba, immediately called the police helpline 15, who reached the house immediately and managed to arrest the robbers after a standoff of half an hour.
While detailing the incident, Saba said that when she realized the presence of the robbers in her house, she immediately posted a status on FB after locking her room in the upper portion of the building.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Faisal Town said the police officials reached the spot in no time after receiving a call at the helpline. He added that after the negotiations that last for half an hour, the police apprehended the criminals.
