Balochistan's civil society is protesting the murder of a student allegedly at the hands of Frontier Corps (FC). The slain youngster Hayat Baloch was a student of psychology at Karachi University.

On Thursday, a convoy of FC was patrolling the streets when unknown assailants attacked the personnel with hand grenade in Turbat, southern Baluchistan. Following the incident, Hayat Baluch was working along with his father in his date garden when an FC official allegedly shot him suspecting that he had thrown the grenade.

Father of Hayat Baluch, Mirza Baluch who is said to be an eyewitness of  the incident, said that the security forces stormed the garden and began to beat up Hayat. He added that they tied Hayat’s hands and later shot him.

Due to closure of the university, Hayat was in his hometown helping his father in maintaining the date garden.
